Coaching focuses on where you are and where you are headed, striving to gain clarity in vision, eliminate obstacles to success, and accelerate personal growth.  It is not counseling or mentoring, which also have a place in personal development, and mostly deal with deeper issues that block progress.  Coaches are trained to know the difference and refer as appropriate.
